Pacifiers & Accessories
When shopping for pacifiers, whether it's a Natursutten, Mam, BornFree, Dr brown's, Soothie, Nuk pacifier or any other brand, there are several things that need to be considered. The pacifier brand and size will be the most important factors when purchasing a pacifier. Most babies will likely take a pacifier brand which they used in the hospital, however there are still babies that will only like a pacifier for the shape of the nipple. Every newborn is different. That is why pacifiers are usually not a baby gift because you can't know before the baby is born, which pacifier he or she will take.
If your baby is breastfeeding, try to use a pacifier that has the closest resemblance to a breast nipple. I had one baby that experienced nipple confusion when I first introduced her to the pacifier. I feel that the Gumdrop brand pacifiers are the closest in resemblance to a mother's nipple. Though not all babies experience this, you may prefer not to introduce the pacifier until your baby has mastered latching on to the breast.
